Embark on the Gidjuum Gulganyi Walk stress-free with our return shuttle service. We’ll get you to the trailhead at Manns Road near Unicorn Falls, then pick you up four days later from Minyon Falls or Minyon Grass.
At Vision Walks, we’ve been running award-winning eco tours and transport experiences for 19 years, so we know how important it is for your adventure to start smoothly. We run daily shuttle transfers from:
South: Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina, Lismore and Mullumbimby
North: Gold Coast Airport, Salt (Kingscliff) Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby
Transfers from Uki and Murwillumbah are also available on request.
You’ll travel in comfortable air-conditioned vehicles, including our Toyota Kluger Hybrid, Nissan Serena Hybrid, Toyota Commuter and Renault Master, depending on group size. We try to use the right vehicle for the right job to reduce fuel use and emissions wherever possible.
Bookings are essential.
For your return journey, you can choose pickup from either:
The Minyon Loop is an absolutely spectacular finish to the walk, but it does add an extra 6 km ans takes about 2.5 hours. If you’re undecided, no worries — you can contact us on the day and change your pickup location.
We currently run two daily departures from Minyon:
Because the walk starts and finishes in different locations, you’ll need to book each shuttle journey separately. Use the promo code GGW to receive 10% off when booking both directions.
Once you’ve booked one journey, the return option should appear at the bottom right of your computer screen. We know the booking process isn’t as streamlined as it should be yet — we’re working on it, so thanks for bearing with us. Alternatively, you can simply book each service directly through the timetable below.
We also offer group discounts for groups of six or more. Just contact us directly and we’ll sort it out.
One of the biggest reasons the National Parks wanted the shuttle service was to reduce the environmental impact on the Parks.
Without a shuttle, there would be hundreds of additional private vehicle movements, multiple car shuffles, more congestion at trailheads and increased wildlife roadstrike risk in sensitive habitat areas.
In the last 12 months, around 70% of Gidjuum Gulganyi walkers used the shuttle service, saving an estimated 8.6 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
At Vision Walks, we reduce emissions as much as possible by:
We then offset what’s left by planting local koala food trees and supporting additional certified carbon offset programs through the Carbon Halo initiative in Tasmania.

Leaving vehicles in the National Park for four days isn’t recommended due to limited parking and the unassured safety of vehicles. Because of this, we’re unfortunately unable to pick you up at the end of the walk and return you to the trailhead to collect your car.
Mullumbimby is by far the easiest place to start and finish the walk because it’s the closest town to both ends of the track.
Free unrestricted street parking is available near the bus stop. Please note this parking is not secured.
You can park here for $10 per night, or camp for $35 per night.
To book, contact Andrew on 0474 100 189.
We can pick you up directly from the showgrounds — just let us know when booking.
Parking is available for $35 for the duration of your walk. They also offer unpowered camping sites for $32 per night.
To book, call 0405 198 866.
Mantra and Peppers at Salt offer our guests a great package deal:
This is subject to availability and excludes some peak periods including school holidays, festivals and public holidays.
Byron Bay isn’t the ideal place to leave your car for several days. If possible, I’d recommend driving to Mullumbimby and parking there instead.
If you do need to park in Byron, the best option is usually Bayshore Drive near the Solar Train station.
We also offer a few handy extras for hikers flying in or travelling light.
If you’re arriving directly from the airport, we stock Gasmate 230g Iso-Butane fuel canisters for $15 each.
If you also need matches or a lighter, just add a note to your booking.
Travelling with extra luggage? We offer bag storage for $10 per bag.
Hire hiking poles for $10 per pole.
PLBs are available for hire for $30.
We also hire Garmin InReach Mini 2 satellite communicators for $50, including global Iridium network data.
You can add all extras during the booking process. If you’ve already booked and want to add something later, just give us a call on 02 6608 0601.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR THE SHUTTLE SERVICE ONLY. YOU NEED TO BOOK YOUR PLACE ON THE TRAIL AND CAMPING SPOT ON THE NSW NATIONAL PARKS WEBSITE
